Think of what we could accomplish…

Look what we accomplished since we first started:
Over 2200 hours of volunteer work at outreach events every year.
8 nationally recognized experts as speakers at our meetings every year.
We built a “NASA class” observatory (to quote one of our District of Sechelt counsellors)
This happens because a small group of people from our membership donate some of their time, creativity, and ideas, making us one of the most active RASC Centres in Canada, even if we are nowhere near being the largest.
Think of what we could accomplish if a few more of you members came forward…
We’re looking for a new Vice President, Secretary, and some directors at large at our AGM in December. Who’d like to help us push even further into the amazing?

Directors Wanted

Participation in the SCC Board of Directors is a leadership experience that provides a rich opportunity for personal and astronomical growth. Our centre is one of the most active in the country with 67 members, the busiest speaker program in the country, a very active outreach program, and a new observatory. This all happens because of people willing to help out and serve the Sunshine Coast Centre. This December we have our Annual General Meeting and we are looking for a new Vice President and several directors at large. Members of the board are required to meet once a month on the 4th Saturday. In addition they may volunteer to take on tasks such as media director or librarian to assist in the running of the society. If you are interested in helping our Centre continue to provide the services it now does and bring in new ideas to make it even better, please contact me by e mail or phone me.
