Our Centre was at Cooper’s Green for the 50th annual Halfmoon Bay Country Fair on 10 July. 257 people attended the booth and looked through the solar scopes. We even fixed a telescope that someone brought in.

Our Sunshine Coast Centre will be setting up an information booth at the Halfmoon Bay Country Fair on Sunday, 12 July, 2015. We’ll have our solar scopes set up so that you can view sunspots and solar flares.

Halfmoon Bay Country Fair Report

IMG_0943Mike, Linda, Justin, Scott, and Danny all showed up to man the booth and telescopes at the Halfmoon Bay Country Fair today. The skies started out clear when the telescopes were set up at 8 AM but some clouds interfered with viewing from about 1245 to 2 PM. We had 174 people check out the booth and look through the solar scopes at solar flares (there were a few good ones) and sun spots. You know that you’re at a country fair when one of these shows up at your astronomy info booth (actually a pig showed up too… on leash)! Check out the rest of the photos on the photo album page.
